Please join us for this year's LTCC Christmas Lecture “Functional Calculus”, which will take place on Monday 5 December at 6pm.

We are delighted to have Dr Lashi Bandara of Brunel University London as our speaker. A reception and refreshments will follow the lecture.

Abstract:

Ever met a matrix in the wild and thought it might be a good idea to chuck it into a function? What would that even mean? Why would you want to do it?

Dr Lashi Bandara of Brunel University London will give you an entertaining presentation on this process known as Functional Calculus, known as Fun Calc on the streets!

This is a procedure which can be defined beyond matrices for more general linear transformations yielding a powerful tool to solve lots of interesting problems. Geometry and harmonic analysis are also likely to gatecrash the party to make things even more interesting!

We look forward to seeing you there.

Please confirm your attendance by midday 1st December responding to office@ltcc.ac.uk
